Dario has called Rainbow International School Uganda home for 12 years — from his very first days in primary through to Year 12. Few people know this school as deeply, or care about it as genuinely.

That long journey has given him a rare perspective. He has experienced RISU across every stage of school life, which means he understands not just where students are today, but where they have come from and where they are going.

As Head Boy for 2026–27, Dario’s role is to be a genuine bridge between the student body and school leadership — present, approachable, and accountable. His goal is simple: leave RISU measurably better than he found it.

Leadership, for Dario, is not a title. It is a responsibility.

The Head Boy Speech

Good morning everyone. I know how this usually goes — another year, another speech, and some of you are already yawning. I got it, so I’ll keep this short.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Dario. A special welcome to the Year 6s — since you’re the only ones here who haven’t had to see my face around the halls for years yet.

First: Togetherness. We do better when we work together. I want to start exam skills workshops where Year 12s and 13s help Year 11s with IGCSEs — because sometimes you just need the shortcuts from someone who’s actually survived them. Lately it feels like Primary and Secondary are two different worlds, and I want to fix that by bringing back the “Whole School” spirit through events that actually had meaning — like a whole school swimming gala and sports days. Because let’s be real: we aren’t going to remember the hours in revision rooms… but we will remember the days the whole school actually came together.

Second: A powerful student’s voice. One of the ways I’ve tried to reach this goal is building a website where you can share your ideas anonymously. But a website isn’t enough. I want to be someone you can grab in the hallway for a chat, not some ‘official’ who’s impossible to talk to just because of a title. When I’m in those meetings? I’m there to make sure your ideas get heard.

Third: The vibe. What happened to the pizza at break, and the Yojus, milk, and yogurt that got removed from lunch? We need those back. That’s why I want more inter-house events like coding, debating, or talent shows — because everyone here has a specific talent, and it’s time we had more ways to express them.

And finally: Academic Optimisation. The reason we’re all here is to receive good education and pass our exams. After sitting through 9 lessons every day, I think we should have a say on how lessons can be improved. That’s why I propose a student, teacher and management committee to discuss what we can make better.

“Good leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice, but about making sure every voice is heard.”

If you want a school that feels more like our school — thank you for trusting me to represent you.
